Where Do The Keywords Go?

We all know to optimize our articles with the keywords we want to target, but is there any difference where those keywords appear in the article?

First, your keywords should absolutely be in the title or headline of your article. It let’s the readers know what the article is about. It carries weight with the search engines. The urls to the pages where your article appears in directories will often contain your headline as part of the url, which also has seo benefits.

Next, the first paragraph of your article should contain your main key phrase you are targeting. Just like when writing any web page content. Keywords near the beginning of the text help you with seo.

Do not use your keyword too many times throughout the article. It will sound spammy to the reader and may be counted as spam by the search engines as well.

Every other paragraph is not so bad. Just make sure it looks natural to your readers and it will also look natural to the search engines.

Hope that helps.
