Couldn't agree more with this post. I wrote and article on this very topic. Keyword richness shouldn't be at the detriment of article quality.

I agree I only put my keywords in the title and summary and they get ranked really well as well as keep my article from sounding stupid...

Having regular articles written would boost the website and people would understand that there is a constant activity happening in the website. It is the indication of website maintenance and websites which do not follow this does not stand any chance.

@Mikey, no I don't generally recommend keyword densities - for articles, blogs, or website content. Keyword placement is much more important that keyword quantity. And semantic language indexing almost assures you a relevant SE listing if your secondary and tertiary keywords do a proper support arrangement.

That said, I have seen instances where keyword density has helped an article rank. But I think keyword density for article marketing is largely going out of style.

@David, you are right. Long tail key phrases can deliver targeted traffic, which is more important than quantity of traffic. And the resource box is critical.

Thank you both for your comments.

I think article marketing is not about high competition keywords anymore, at best you can address some long tail keywords to get traffic directly from article and use anchor text within article to increase your site's SERP. Resource box has become very important because there should be a compelling call to action in resource box to get visitors to your site from the article.

What's your feeling about keyword density percentages in this day and age? Do you recommend a percentage?
