Can You Submit Articles Directly To The Publisher?

Yes! In fact, I recommend it.

There are two generally accepted methods of marketing through articles: Mass distribution and direct submission. With the mass distribution method you write an article and submit it through multiple article directories, hoping that publishers will find it and use it. With the direct submission method you identify publishers that you hope will publish your article and submit it directly to them for their acceptance or rejection.

The best way to go about finding publishers to submit your articles to directly is to search for blogs and websites within your niche. When you find one that you like, add it to your list. Maintain your list in a text document or Excel spreadsheet. I prefer spreadsheets because you can list the dates you submit your articles and if they are rejected then you can just send the article out to another publisher immediately. Keeping your spreadsheet updated with acceptance and rejection dates per article is essential so that you can track how your articles are received and how effective they are in your marketing.

This method works well when you have a good list of potential websites that might publish your articles. You can theoretically have an article published at each website or blog on any given day. For instance, if you have 20 publishers on your list and you’ve written 20 articles that you’d like placed, you can send a different article to a different publisher on the same day. If they all are accepted then you’ve got 20 inbound links coming from high quality, relevant sites within your niche, not to mention the traffic that can come from those articles.

Direct submissions is a very useful and effective method of article marketing. We highly recommend it.

As you know I have been following your newsletter, asking questions and making comments for a while. I would like to add your link to my Website. As a do it yourself SEO enthusiast I started the site to help other DIY solopreneurs find their way through the Web maze. I am in process of restructuring as a pseudo directory of informative sites. Please let me know if you object or if there might be anything to add to my blurb by e-mailing me directly.

Writing and getting it published has never been easier. The tips you have provided are excellent. Its an easy way to increase web trafficking and your income as well. There are website who accept your articles directly. But it also depends on your content if you are a good writer and can write on almost on anything and every thing then market your articles wisely.

Yes allan, I do think so that contacting directly to publisher will be more effective, because in mass distribution, people may or may not view our site/blog, but via direct submission, the Publisher will ask each and every customer to visit particular site/blog for blah-blah offers

  4. @Allen: Isn’t this very similar to guest posting? Most publishers/blogs will insist on unique articles (and sometimes unique ideas).

Any idea how do you find these ‘direct publishers’? For guest posting I search for ‘guest post’ or ‘write for us’ kind of phrases.

@ MikeY, thanks. Will contact you soon.

@ Steven, I would search for blogs or websites within your niche then send an e-mail query to the owner asking if they accept guest written content and some guidelines. It would help if you are a regular commentator on the blog so that the owner is already familiar with you.

BTW, we accept guest bloggers here at ACP and on our sister blogs – Blog Content Provider and SEO Service Provider – too.

Articles certainly are a great way to increase the number of backlinks to your web sites.

Guest posting on other people’s blog can be a great way of getting more visitors to your web site as well.

You offer some great ideas here regarding article directory submissions. I struggled with article marketing for several years and finally decided to only pursue it part-time and channel more of my focus on other traffic generation methods.

Article marketing is great, especially for SEO and the occasional traffic. I’m not the best at creating compelling articles, but I do get the occasional trickle of visitors from various sites that have published my articles.

Currently my favorite method is using Google News as a supplemental source of traffic and SE attention.

Those of you unfamiliar with this approach, here is a great introduction, “Article Marketing Alternative: Get on Google News”.

Does anyone have any information on exactly how to go about getting the contact information from the Publisher?

    Thanks,

    Chrissy

I think it is a good tip. But it is time consuming. Approaching each site owner takes a lot of time, especially on blogs where it is even hard to find the contacting details. But agreed, once you get contact / access you can then easily keep adding content.
But you could also try and find specialized article sites that focus on a certain subject.
For my article website Article Stock I would love more content providers.

  9. The internet has become a game changer for all those wanting to work from home. Even this million dollar industry has attracted a lot of potential employees also who want to earn extra bucks. During recession it is this online work that helped me survive the tough times and I strongly recommend online works. In this world when intenet is spreading like wildfire , online works has a lot of potential and in future it will not be limited to part time works but will be seen as full time carrer.
working online is full time carrer

Well thanks for sharing such a nice tips but as far as my opinion concern I preferred method mass distribution because I am very much familiar with it and feeling ease in this method.

  11. The methods you have discussed is really great.. And also everybody must remember that if the submission is in the similar niche, it could be a great help too…In my case I love direct submission rather then mass distribution..’cause they can get a better traffic for you.

Yes there are many websites which accepts articles.Directories which submit an article should be of very good page rank then only ther chance of approval is higher. If directory takes more time in approval of article then you should look for another site.

  13. It’s a good idea. I have always considered the prospect that when you submit to article directories it’s a hit and miss proposition. Even with the more popular directories there’s no way to know ahead of the game how many webmasters will pick up and publish your articles. Direct submission makes a lot more sense. Thanks
