Article Traffic: How Long Does It Take?

Now that you’ve got your articles written and published, how long does it take before the traffic starts flooding in?

First, we need to ask the right questions. Secondly, don’t expect to get a flood of traffic over night. It takes time to build a solid stream of traffic from articles, but when you do you’ll know that you are being effective.

Two Factors Affective Article Marketing Success

The No. 1 factor in determining how successful you are in your article marketing efforts is the quality of your articles. If you don’t write good articles that provide valuable information and that establish you as an authority in your niche then you likely won’t get a lot of traffic. You will probably get some, but even the traffic you get will be in spurts, not huge volumes all at once. That happens, but rarely.

The second greatest factor in determining successful article marketing is how often you publish your articles. If you publish 50 articles during the first week of the year and don’t publish any more all year long, you will not do as well as the article marketer who publishes one article per week throughout the year. You have to be consistent in your efforts. That means writing an article per day, if possible, or at the least, one per week. Even if you wrote and published one article per month, that would be better than nothing. But the more often you publish your articles then the better off you’ll be.

Article Marketing: What To Expect From A Long-Term Strategy

Article marketing does two things: It builds traffic and it builds PageRank. You should not see article directories as ends in themselves. They are the means to the end. You want to publish in article directories so that other publishers pick up your articles. But that will happen only if they see value in them for their readers. So your job is to make sure that you write articles that are valuable to the end reader. If you do that well then they will be picked up by publishers and distributed throughout the Internet.

The more your articles are picked up the more likely you are to earn traffic to your website and earn PageRank based on the relevancy and trust of the sites picking up your articles. Long term, article marketing produces exponential benefits as you increase your own authority and trust. You are creating brand awareness so don’t give up.

Thanks for this post. I’ve been wondering how long article marketing will take to work, but I know the key is to just start doing it…which I will today! Thanks again.

I’ve learned that there is a balance between consitent article writing and quality. Sometimes, I will be low on ideas and that’s when my quality suffers just for the sake of keeping up on writing articles. Inspiriation is key!
