Should You Submit To Just One Article Directory?

Some owners of article directories would have you submit your articles to them and no one else. But is that wise?

Consider this: If one article directory goes under or loses all its content and that directory is the one where your articles are located then you’ve just lost all your valuable content. You’ll have to start over.

I don’t think it’s wise to stick to just one directory. Diversify. That’s the rule of thumb in business economics and it should be the rule of thumb with article marketing. Don’t just rely on one article directory. Submit your articles to several. That will increase your chances for success.

Which directories do you recommend?

Randy, it depends. I’d start with niche directories then try the more popular general directories.

Is it feasible at all to submit in one directory? Regardless if a directory would lose its content or not, I think we should leave such directories. We should submit our articles all possible places to get benefit our content.

On many other blogs I have read that your article can be penalized for duplicate content by Google or other search engines or some directories can put a ban forever but I think it is not correct. Submitting in multiple directories have some meanings and we shouldn’t miss that.

There really is no duplicate content penalty. Google will index the original article but it won’t index the same article at 150 websites. The links will still be good, though, and that’s why you do article marketing.

Allan, Thanks for explaining that because I was really worried about that. A few days back, I read that duplicate post thing about wordpress and I stopped submitting my articles. Now I am fearless to start submission again.
