Should You Send Article Readers To Your Opt-In Page?

By allen on May 28th, 2008

An article I read recently told the story of an Internet marketer who stopped sending readers of his articles to his opt-in page. Instead, he now sends them to his index page or another page on his website so they can learn more about his niche and read more great content on his website. Was that a good move?

According to him, it improved the quality of his opt-in list. I can imagine that it did. But he also made another change. He stopped offering a free e-book to e-zine subscribers.

If you offer a freebie then you do run the risk of having people sign up for your newsletter or e-zine just for the freebie and not the e-zine itself. If you really want them to become subscribers and to read your e-zine then you might not want to offer a freebie. But what about that opt-in page? Should you send readers of your articles there?

It depends. Many Internet marketers swear by it. But most of them using that strategy are harping products. They offer a free download along with an e-zine subscription then spend the rest of the marketing efforts trying to sell more stuff. Their marketing model is based on numbers. Get lots and lots of subscribers then pummel them with come-ons. It works for them. But it might not work for you.

If you are looking for high quality subscribers who will read your e-mails and interact with you on your blog and website then you might want to try a different strategy. Put an opt-in box on every page of your website and send your article traffic to your site to read your great content. If they like the content on your website then they’ll subscribe to your e-zine.

How A Ghostwriter Can Save You Money On Articles

I was reading an article on article marketing for the indie movie industry and it occurred to me that many small business owners are in the same predicament as indie movie producers. That is, their budget is small.

If you have a small budget then article marketing is the ideal marketing medium for you. If you write your own articles and distribute them then the only cost is time. If you have someone else - say, a ghostwriter - write your articles for you and you distribute them then your cost is minimal. You can have your articles written by ACP for half what it would cost you with most other content writers today.

If you don’t have the time to do your own article distribution, ACP can do that too for a very small price. Call us for more details (786-317-8774), or visit our website.

Are You Cut Out For Article Writing?

The headline got my attention:

Can Article Writing Be An Online Business?

Well, obviously, we’ve done quite well with it at Article Content Provider.

I first started out in Internet marketing by writing articles. Many Internet marketers do start there and it’s a good place to start because article writing teaches you the basics of search engine optimization. Notice that I said the basics. We’re not talking about upper level link building, social media optimization, and advance SEO techniques. Those are all useful and should be learned by anyone wanting to succeed online today. But article marketing is a good primer for these other pursuits.

The reason I say that is because article marketing, as an Internet marketing technique, is one of the oldest tactics of online marketing. It’s been around since at least 1995. Even before search engine optimization and pay-per-click took over our imaginations, successful webmasters were writing articles and publishing them on other people’s website to drive traffic back to their own. It worked then and it still works today - although now it is much more competitive than it was then.

But can you make a living writing articles for someone else?

Believe it or not, article writing can be an online business that you can have success with. No matter what type of web site a person has, quality content is something that everybody can use. And the problem with many people’s web sites is repetitive content.

You would be surprised at how many people are willing to spend money for content. While many people have ideas, they do not necessarily know how to put it into words. That is where you come in. If you are a decent writer, you can make quality money off of writing for people.

In a word, yes. There are several ways you can go about seeking employment as an online article writer. You can build a website and open up your own freelance business, you can attempt to get business through the social media websites and freelance sites online, you partner with someone else and share the work (and the profits), or work for someone else. There are advantages and disadvantages to each method. If you run your own freelance writing business you’ll have to do your own marketing, which is an expense in time and money, and you’ll run the risk of customers not paying you for your work or spend countless time on collections activities. While most customers are good and pay what they owe on time, it is a risk of doing business on your own.

For these reasons, many beginning article writers can benefit by working under the tutelage of a more experienced article writer and marketer who takes care of the collections, billing, marketing and sales, and other similar aspects of running a freelance writing business. If you are a skilled writer you might want to spend more time writing and less time marketing and collecting money. Our most productive article writers make a full-time income at writing articles for others and they learn how to get results for our clients. If you think you have what it takes to be an article writer, try applying at Article Content Provider and let us do the hard work for you.

Is Keyword Research Necessary For Article Marketing?

By allen on May 22nd, 2008
Posted in Article Marketing, Article Writing | No Comments »

Do you really need to do keyword research to conduct proper article marketing? It depends. Do you want your article marketing to succeed?

If you already have a list of keywords for which your website has been optimized you may not need to do additional keyword research, especially if you are writing your first batch of articles. What is important is that you marry up the keywords for your articles to the proper landing page that you intend to promote through them. Optimize each article around a specific keyword or keyword phrase then include that phrase as anchor text at least once in your author resource box and link it to the landing page. You should do that for every article in your marketing campaign.

But what if you are on your second or third phase of article marketing and you’ve gone through all of your keywords? Then you might need to do some fresh keyword research. Keep in mind that search behavior changes over time. Key phrases are searched often today may not be the same phrases searched for six months from now. It’s important that you use the latest data on keyword research and search behavior or you could be writing articles that are outdated and irrelevant. When you write articles based on the latest trends in search behavior you’ll make your articles more relevant and targeted toward the type of consumer that you want to reach. Just be sure to marry up the most appropriate key phrases in your article with the keywords used in your landing pages. You don’t have to rewrite your landing pages, but relevance means search behavior relevance as much as it does optimization relevance. Keep both in mind for the best article marketing strategy for your campaign.

Targeted Article Marketing - Discover 4 Creative Ways To Advance With Article Marketing

By Sean R Mize

Today, it is very possible to grow your ebusiness by just writing and submitting your articles online. This process, which is commonly called as article marketing, is currently one of the most cost-effective and efficient marketing tools that is being used by millions of webmasters and online entrepreneurs from all points of the globe. This tool can easily drive free traffic to your website, pull up your search engine ranking, and generate more sales leads to increase your online revenue.

Here are the 4 creative ways to advance with article marketing:

1. Your articles must be informative. Online users open and read articles for one good reason: they would like to be informed. So, make sure that your copies can offer valuable information that your readers will find helpful and valuable to their lives. I suggest that you offer them with solutions to their pressing issues, answers to their frequently asked questions, or guides that can help them improve their skill level.

2. Do your research.
Online users appreciate articles that offer in-depth, complete, and detailed information about topics that they are deeply passionate about. You can offer them exactly what they need by doing your research before you pound on your key board. Take that extra mile so you can offer your readers more. Check out reputable sites, read some studies or researches, or interview an expert on you chosen niche who can give you more valuable information.

3. Never use article spinning software. A lot of article writers who are looking for ways on how they can augment the number of their articles resort to these type of software. Although they can rewrite your copies so you can avoid content duplication, these software cannot guarantee the quality of your articles. As you know, offering your readers with poor quality content can be deadly to your marketing techniques so you might as well write your articles manually or hire ghostwriters to do the legwork for you.

4. Check your facts. You surely don’t want to feed your readers with misleading content as this can easily affect your expert status online. That is why, it is crucial that you check all the information that you include in your articles before you make them available online. If you are discussing new concepts that are just too-good-to-be true, back up your claims with studies, researches, testimonials, and other reputable resources.

Sean Mize has made some good points here. I can’t stress enough the importance of following these four points that he makes about article marketing:

  • Be informative
  • Do your research
  • Don’t use spinning software
  • Check your facts

I’d also add to these one more very important point: Proofread your work.

Nothing screams “amateur” more than glaring errors throughout your articles. Spelling and grammar errors will kill your credibility so fast. If you are not very good at grammar and spelling then you’d be better off paying an article writer to ghostwrite your articles for you. A professional writer will take the time to ensure that your articles are proofread before they are distributed to the article directories and you will look professional and credible to your targeted market.

What’s An Article Blast? Plus, How To Do It

Article Marketing - How To Do An ‘Article Blast’ To Boost Your Website Traffic!
by Fabian Tan

An ‘Article Blast’ is a term I coined for doing a submission of articles that boost your website traffic instantly and for a long time to come too. This process involves submitting a mass number of original quality articles to article directories with the sole purpose to increase your traffic.

You can plan an Article Blast ahead of time. If you want to increase your traffic, you can go with a blast of about 10 articles. If you really want to boost your traffic numbers, you can do a blast of even 20 articles. This will give you a considerable boost in the number of visitors you will receive.

One way to do an Article Blast would be to use an article submitter like Submit Your Article or Article Post Robot. The first submitter is automated and will submit 8 articles every month to hundreds of article directories. With Article Post Robot, you can submit any number of articles, although it is manual process where you login to every article directory in the software and post one by one. It’s slower, but it does get better results.

So how do you get your articles written? You can either plan an article writing session where you simply sit down and write your articles for a few hours. Or if you don’t want to do that, or just simply dislike writing, you can hire a freelance writer to crank out some articles for you. I get my freelancers from authority websites like Elance, Guru and Get A Freelancer. These are the best sites to source out quality freelancers in a matter of hours.

Fabian Tan is a well-known Internet Marketing expert and the author of the popular 51-page Report:

An article blast is a good way to get your articles out there quickly. One tool that we use to perform article blasts for our clients is iSnare. Through iSnare you can submit your articles to thousands of website’s quickly and get your articles in the hands of webmasters and e-zine editors in a matter of hours. And the cost is extremely reasonable. A real time saver plus an affordable marketing strategy.

And I like that this article marketer recommends freelance writers. You can have your articles professionally written at an affordable cost. Freelance ghostwriters are a dime a dozen, but if you’re going to do it you might as well use someone who knows what they’re doing, has a track record, and will write high quality articles at a good price.

Press Release Writing And Article Writing Have A Lot In Common

By allen on May 12th, 2008
Posted in Press Release Writing | 3 Comments »

Press release writing and article writing have a lot in common. You can actually get a lot of short term benefit out of press release writing, if you do it right. When you sit down to write your press release, think about what you want to get out of it. Who is your press release targeted to and what is it promoting? You’ll have to do some keyword research to find out what the best keywords are for promoting the event that you want to promote. Don’t skip this step because it’s one of the most important parts of the writing process.

Just as you would optimize an article for maximum marketing effectiveness, you also want to optimize your online press release. It isn’t enough to just write a press release that markets your event. It must be optimized. Remember, people will find your press release in one of two ways - they’ll either conduct a keyword search and pull up your press release based on the keywords that you use, or they’ll find it through a topical search on the press release distribution website. Either way, your press release will need to use the proper keywords to be found.

Today’s press releases are not so cut and dry as writing it down and sending it to the newspaper or TV station of choice. You really want to make sure you target your release to the right people. Otherwise, you’ll just be sending words into a vacuum.

Article Marketing: Is That Like A Pyramid Scheme?

By allen on May 9th, 2008

Do you ever get one of those cross-eyed looks whenever you start talking about article marketing and other Internet marketing techniques? My Mom always looks at me like she did the first time I said a four-letter word. My Uncle Paul once asked, “Is that there one of ‘em peermid schemes?” Yes, he does actually sound like The Cable Guy. Poor guy.

At any rate, article marketing is nothing like a pyramid scheme. It’s not unethical. It’s not illegal. And it’s a lot of fun once you get used to it. Plus, it works. Wouldn’t it be nice if every marketing technique worked?

One of the biggest misunderstandings about Internet marketing in general, and article marketing specifically, is that there is some kind of underhanded magic trick that makes it all work. But that’s not true. All you need to know is a little human psychology (what makes people tick) and some time-honored marketing principles. Plus, a little hard work goes a long way as well.

To learn more about article marketing, call an article marketing expert. There’s no pyramid. Promise.

The Purpose of Article Marketing

By allen on May 7th, 2008

On Blog Content Provider earlier today we posted about the purpose of blog marketing. Every now and then we like to revisit this issue because there are still business owners online who think article marketing is about selling and that’ s not really what it’s all about.

Article marketing is about pre-selling.

What I mean by that is this: When you write and distribute articles to article directories online, don’t simply send out a marketing message about your company. People online are looking for useful information. So give it to them. Tell them something interesting that they didn’t know before. Then, at the end, in your author bio box, tell them why they should visit your website and give them the link. Let your website do the selling.

In a word, article marketing’s purpose is to drive traffic to your website. But that’s not the only thing it does either. You can also use article marketing to build inbound links. But those links are not from the article directories.

The big picture is that people in your industry who publish newsletters and website will use your articles if they like them. When they do, they will give you back links to your website and you’ll get visitors from their websites and newsletters. If you look at it from that perspective, article marketing serves a much bigger purpose than what most small business owners imagine.

Article Marketing Pros: ACP Is Ranked No. 7

By allen on May 5th, 2008

I like to do a little competitive research from time to time. One of the tools that I have discovered for doing good competitive research is Myriad Search. This meta search engine compiles results from the top 4 search engines and ranks websites according to their authority on key search terms according to their relative rank in each of those search engines. The Article Content Provider article marketing blog is ranked No. 7 among blogs that rank for the search term “article marketing blog”. That’s not a bad feat considering our first blog post was made on July 14, 2007 (and we haven’t even posted to the blog every day for the last 10 months).

I’d like to take this time to recognize our competition. The top 10 blogs in the article marketing niche are listed below:

  • Article Marketing by Garrett Finch - Quite frankly, this one perplexes me. The blog hasn’t been posted to since July 15, 2007, the day after we started this blog. Before that, the blog hadn’t been posted to since November 6, 2005. And it’s located on the biggest spam neighborhood on the Internet - Blogspot. I think Google needs to seriously look at its age-factor algorithm for blogs.
  • From The Desk Of Jeff Herring - This guy seems to be real big into teleseminars. That’s not bad, but why does he rank for article marketing? Well, it seems he is peddling templates for articles that he wants you to buy. Cool, if you write your own articles and don’t know what you’re doing.
  • The Article Marketing Blog - Good title. Bad delivery. Though I will say this is an improvement over the No. 1 blog in this niche. But you’ll only find 5 blog posts, all from 2007. The last one was in November 2007 even though the copyright at the bottom of the page says 2008. It seems this blog may be a front for something called The Income Academy. Not a real player.
  • ArticleSnatch Blog - This is obviously the blog for the article directory ArticleSnatch. Yes, they have recent blog posts, but they don’t talk about article marketing much. And what’s up with that self-promoting ad in the sidebar down below the fold?
  • Dane Morgan - Individual blog post by a niche blogger.
  • Article Directory Marketing Blog - Just like Nos. 1 and 3 above, this blog hasn’t been posted to since November 2007.
  • Article Content Provider - OK, so we don’t post every day. Sorry about that. We do the best we can do. But we do provide you with the most up-to-date blog posts on article marketing and try to make it relevant. Thanks for reading!
  • Jeff Herring’s podcast RSS feed - Cool. Is that what you were looking for?
  • Taff’s Article Directory Blog - Another blog from one of the thousands of article directories out there.
  • Marketing Tips n Tools - Not bad, but not focused on article marketing.

If you take out blogs that have no recent posts, don’t focus mostly or entirely on article marketing, aren’t simply one single post about article marketing on a blog about a much broader topic, or that aren’t shills or come ons for other things then it looks like we’re the best thing in town when it comes to getting the best and the latest information on article marketing techniques that work. Why go anywhere else?
