Article Repurposing

Do you repurpose your articles? Here are five reasons why you should repurpose and recirculate those old articles of yours:

  1. You’ll find a new audience
  2. You can update your information to make it more current
  3. Rebuild links that have fallen out of favor due to search engine algorithm updates
  4. Your opinions on certain matters may have changed
  5. The language you used in the last article has changed and a new article would make the language - and the ideas - fresher

There are likely other reasons you may want to consider repurposing old articles. I do know it’s a great way to increase traffic and the SEO benefits to your website. Plus, you can rewrite an old article in less than it takes to research and write a new one. All you have to do is tweak a few things here and there and you’ve got a new article. But now that you’ve repurposed that old article, what can you do with it? A boat load. Consider:

  • Resubmit it to article directories
  • Post it to your blog
  • Publish it on your website
  • Exchange it with other website owners and publishers for articles they have written
  • Put it in your ezine
  • Submit it to article hubs that pay you for your content or share the revenue
  • Have it reprinted in industry journals and on industry or niche websites

Virtually anything you can do with a fresh article you can also do with a repurposed article. And it’s just as easy.

That is a really great idea! I have a few articles that I could go repurpose. How about creating a content website from a series of same topic articles? And then put adsense or auction ads on it.

It takes a lot of AdSense to make any real money that way but, yes, that is one strategy. Thanks Anthony.

Yup, if you drive enough traffic to it, the adsense could pay off. Anything is better than just having the articles sitting on your hard drive.
