iSnare is often referred to as an article directory. Really, though, it’s as much an article submission service as a directory. In fact, I would say even more so.
What’s so special about iSnare is that the service distributes your articles to 40,000 article directories and websites for a mere $2 per article. That’s not a bad gig. When you consider that most article submission software that you purchase costs a pretty good penny and don’t submit your articles to that many websites, that’s not bad. But don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are getting 40,000 high-value submissions for $2. That’s really not the case.
Let’s say you write articles about real estate investing. How many of those 40,000 websites will be interested in articles within your particular niche? Mathematically, probably fewer than half. Maybe even less than that. But let’s just say that only 1/10th of them are. That’s 4,000 websites. Would you spend $2 to distribute one article to 4,000 websites? What about 400 - 1% of the total?
Crunching iSnare’s Numbers
Even if only 400 websites out of 40,000 are interested in your article, $2 a pop is a good deal. That’s 400 inbound links to your website. If only half of those websites lead to 5 additional publications of your article beyond the initial distribution, that’s another 1,000 inbound links, a good number of which will be from related websites, meaning you are getting good inbound link juice from those submissions.
Now, here’s the rub. 40,000 websites means some niche directories, some general directories, some foreign language, and some who knows what. Not all of the websites will be interested in your content. But some of them will be. And that’s what makes iSnare so special. Low-cost distribution across a wide network of websites.
Here’s the small print: No one knows which websites specifically are members of iSnare. They don’t reveal that information. But any website or article directory can apply to be a member of iSnare’s network and many general and niche article directories have done that. Article directories benefit by being members of iSnare’s network because some of them own directories for the sole purpose of benefitting their own websites with SEOd content. Articles within an article directory are not considered duplicate content so Joe Blow with his own article directory on his website can entice the search engines to visit his site more often and have thousands of pages on his website with the simple addition of an article directory and for no work at all get that content added to his site daily through iSnare submissions. In a word, it’s a win-win-win for all.

Ok, I made up a word, scamarketer, but it does apply to some people out there selling stuff on the web. In the article marketing area there are several scamarketers.
You’ll be able to spot a scamarketer easily. They have long sales letters with big red print telling you they have . . .
UNLOCKED THE SECRETS TO SUCCESS ON THE WEB!
A SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOOGLE TO GET YOU PREFERRED LISTINGS!
GUARNATEE YOU TOP 10 LISTINGS IN GOOGLE IN JUST X NUMBER OF DAYS!
SECRETS ONLY THE ARTICLE MARKETING GURUS KNOW!
PRIVATE LABEL RIGHTS, PLR ARTICLES WILL MAKE YOU TONS OF MONEY!
Or they have some other hype on their squeeze page that tells their readers they have a secret, a magic formula, or some other inane way of implying they know something you don’t and all you have to do is trust them and send money and your worries are all over.
First, if you are believing these people and giving them money, you deserve to lose your money. You probably also list the national enquirer as your most trusted news source and you believe we found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Secondly, to those people building these squeeze pages that promise all this bs; Whatever you do is fine by me. You want to sell a bunch of hype and lie to people, that’s entirely up to you. But please quit going into webmaster forums and blogs and pretending to be a real Internet Marketer or Internet Guru.
You aren’t. You embarass the rest of us. Please go hide somewhere where we don’t have to talk to you or see you. SCAMarketers should learn from cockroaches and stay out of the light.

Now that you’ve got your articles written and published, how long does it take before the traffic starts flooding in?
First, we need to ask the right questions. Secondly, don’t expect to get a flood of traffic over night. It takes time to build a solid stream of traffic from articles, but when you do you’ll know that you are being effective.
Two Factors Affective Article Marketing Success
The No. 1 factor in determining how successful you are in your article marketing efforts is the quality of your articles. If you don’t write good articles that provide valuable information and that establish you as an authority in your niche then you likely won’t get a lot of traffic. You will probably get some, but even the traffic you get will be in spurts, not huge volumes all at once. That happens, but rarely.
The second greatest factor in determining successful article marketing is how often you publish your articles. If you publish 50 articles during the first week of the year and don’t publish any more all year long, you will not do as well as the article marketer who publishes one article per week throughout the year. You have to be consistent in your efforts. That means writing an article per day, if possible, or at the least, one per week. Even if you wrote and published one article per month, that would be better than nothing. But the more often you publish your articles then the better off you’ll be.
Article Marketing: What To Expect From A Long-Term Strategy
Article marketing does two things: It builds traffic and it builds PageRank. You should not see article directories as ends in themselves. They are the means to the end. You want to publish in article directories so that other publishers pick up your articles. But that will happen only if they see value in them for their readers. So your job is to make sure that you write articles that are valuable to the end reader. If you do that well then they will be picked up by publishers and distributed throughout the Internet.
The more your articles are picked up the more likely you are to earn traffic to your website and earn PageRank based on the relevancy and trust of the sites picking up your articles. Long term, article marketing produces exponential benefits as you increase your own authority and trust. You are creating brand awareness so don’t give up.

If you are at a loss for what you can do with your articles, let me give you some ideas:
- For starters, you can put your articles on your website
- Many people distribute their articles to various article directories online
- You can establish a relationship with another website or online business in a related field and exchange articles; this will give you both unique content
- Publish your articles in your company newsletter
- Post your articles to your blog
- Record yourself reading your articles and publish them to your website as audio articles
- If you do record yourself reading your articles then you can submit them to podcast directories in addition to regular article directories
- After publishing your articles in any way you can submit them to social bookmarking sites for greater distribution
- Publish your articles to your social networking sites; some social networking sites that allow you to publish articles or blog entries include
- MySpace
- Ryze
- Facebook
- User-generated sites like Associated Content also allow you to publish your articles and get paid when people read them
There are plenty of places online where you can publish your articles. One more, as an added bonus: When you get enough articles, put them into an e-book and offer it as a free download for your website visitors.

We often get the question, “What’s the difference between articles and website content.” The answer is, quite a lot, actually.
Articles can be places on your website but rarely will you use your website content for article marketing. The way we use the word “articles” is to describe content that is written for the sole purpose of conveying information. Articles are used for various purposes. Among those purposes are:
- To market your website and drive traffic to it
- To increase your credibility as a web author
- To provide valuable information for your target market
- To enrich the lives of the people you are trying to serve somewhere other than on your website
When you write articles you hope to have them published somewhere other than on your website. You can improve your website by adding your articles to it, but that isn’t the primary purpose of your articles. They are used for marketing.
Website content, on the other hand, is used to close sales. You want people to read your website content and do business with you. It is more than just providing information. It is drawing in new customers.
That said, one of the primary components of both website content and articles is that they are both SEO tools. A hammer and a nail gun are both carpenter tools, but they are used for different purposes. The purposes may be similar but each has its unique place in the carpenter’s toolbag. So too is it with articles and website content.

When you submit your articles to article directories, do you notify your friends your social networks? There is perhaps no better way to use viral marketing to spread the word about your new articles. Here’s my recommended strategy for getting your articles distributed widely through friends and strangers:
- Submit each article once through iSnare
- Choose 10 article directories and manually submit each article
- Select a handful of social bookmarking site (3-5) and bookmark your article at each site
- Notify all your contacts/friends of each of those bookmarking sites of your new article and ask them to vote on it; also, be sure to ask them to send your article to their friends
- If you belong to any social networking sites, submit your article there as well; many social networking sites have article directories and/or blogs that you can write
- After you submit your articles to your social networks, send a message to all of your friends through the network letting them know of your article; again, ask them to send it to all of their friends
The idea here is to distribute your articles widely. As widely as you can. The more people you let know of your article then the better your chances of that article getting picked up by an e-zine publisher. Remember, the people you know are more likely to help you than you people you don’t know.
